My new horse is awesome! Nothing phases him. Not the motorcycles whining down the road right next to the arena, nor the sometimes on, sometimes off lights in the arena. I just completed the second lesson on my new horse and he was a good boy. Nothing revolutionary, just basics of getting him to bend and keep a consistent tempo. We trotted and cantered over some poles trying to make it a non-event.

At the end of our lesson I asked my trainer if she could hop on so I could get a visual of what I’m trying to achieve. He felt like his head and neck were down really, really low and she said it wasn’t. She was right.

As she trotted him around and then cantered, I thought, “He looks majestic!” I look forward to the day when I can ride him beautifully. For now I get to practice and love on a very sweet boy. And that’s half the fun.

My Knight didn’t come riding in on a horse to rescue me, my Knight is the horse who rescued me!
