7 Horse Themed Instagram Accounts to Follow in 2017

2016 was the year I fell in love with Instagram. I had been a big Twitter fan but my loyalties shifted as I found more horsey Instagram accounts to follow and it just seems Instagram puts the “social” in social media–there’s more commenting and having fun. Just this week thanks to Instagram, I was able to find the farm where my horse Knight’s dam lives (if I can find out any about her I’ll share in another post). Here are seven of my favorite horse themed Instagram accounts (and one dog account too!), that you should definitely check out.

Equus Fails

I have my friend Natalie to thank for introducing me to this amazing account after a riding lesson one night. This was the first fail video I saw and I had to watch it over and over. And over. We giggled like school girls and then I felt guilty for laughing at someone falling, but I quickly got over that when I realized that the people in the videos are sharing them to be public which means they probably think it’s funny too.

Kasia Bukowska Art

If you saw my post about 17 Reasons to Start Horse Blogging, you might remember that because of this blog (and social media) I have reconnected with friends from long ago. Well, Kasia who has stunning artistic talent and is super horse crazy, is a former history student of mine from the early 2000s! I lost track of her over the years, and am delighted to re-discover her and see pictures of her horses.

 Styled Equestrian

I had a chance to interview Jennifer Sims of @styledequestrian for an upcoming Sidelines article about her previous life as a DJ, her time as a Hollywood stunt rider double, how she got her daughter into horses, and what her riding goals are. She is very cool and I’ll be sure to share that article here on Saddle Seeks Horse when it is in print.

 Stately Hound

I love dogs too and this account has great images of all kinds of pooches and it’s beautiful and fun. What’s not to love about dog pictures?

Stable Style

I would love to have my own barn one day but I don’t think that is going to happen any time soon. However, I can scroll through the @stablestyle Instagram feed and appreciate the beautiful barns featured.

Hunt Seat Paper Co.

Last but not least, Hunt Seat Paper Co. has such a great sensibility! I pretty much love every design and am excited to see what stationery, cards and other products will be available for sale. I am particularly fond of the California Daydreamer and Team OTTB designs.
