Pop ups are all the rage for small businesses and there’s an equestrian one happening Sunday, December 16 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center! From 9 to 5, yours truly will be participating (selling copies of my memoir Horses Adored and Men Endured and signing books), along with about twenty other vendors at the Equestrian Holiday Market.

A Pop Up Equestrian Holiday Market? Yes Please!

Recently, a group of enterprising horsewomen/small business owners from all around Southern California brainstormed how to personally connect with horse-loving customers and provide a festive holiday shopping experience. We know there are legions of horse fans who like to shop small and local. Hunt Seat Paper Co.’s founder, and fellow Thoroughbred aficionado, Amy led the charge and found a beautiful space for us at the LA Equestrian Center. We were excited to find out an Anne Kursinski clinic was already slated for the day we targeted to have the pop up! So the Equestrian Holiday Market is on! If you’re in SoCal December 16, come see us.

What Can I Buy at the Equestrian Holiday Market?

The Equestrian Holiday Market will feature everything from socks to riding boots, jewelry to paper goods. No matter what size budget shoppers have, there will be something for everyone.

I’m wearing my Tried Equestrian sunshirt while Eq. Holiday Market founder Amy photobombs.

I’m going to have to keep blinders on (metaphorically speaking–it would be really weird if I actually wore them), because some fabulous shops I’ve already become a huge fan of like Huntsmen and Hounds, Two Bits Equestrian and Tried Equestrian will be there. You might remember a blog post I ran earlier this year interviewing Michele of Huntsmen and Hounds, or maybe you saw the photo of me from the foxhunting clinic blog post in my gorgeous Callidae sunshirt I purchased at a heavily discounted price (with tags still on!) from Tried Equestrian.

Bloggers and Influencers at the Equestrian Holiday Market

In addition to having many shopping options, it will be a fun mixer of a time. There will be holiday-themed baked goods and sweets (YES!). Some friends I’ve met on social media, and then have gotten to know in real life including Isabelle from Modern Equestrian, Karina from The Hunt Eq, and Helen from Life Equestrian will also be there. If equestrians have already run through their holiday budget, it’s okay because it’s fun to just connect with other similarly-minded women. I learn so much from connecting with my various online and offline friends who are equally horse-obsessed.

My memoir will be for sale at the Equestrian Holiday Market.

Too Far Away to Attend the LA Equestrian Holiday Market?

I realize most people reading this blog live too far away to hop on the freeway and meet us at the pop up, but if all this sounds like fun to you–the camaraderie, the equestrian small businesses, the vibe of the legendary Los Angeles Equestrian Center, be sure to follow the Saddle Seeks Horse Instagram and Facebook Page. I will try to live stream some of the fun and post pictures of the event so you’ll feel like you were there too. If you like sunshine and aren’t experiencing it where you live, I’ll try to stream that too. 🙂
