If you are looking for a fresh equestrian shopping destination with a European flair, you definitely need to click on over to Country and Stable (countryandstable.com) an online store featuring riding clothes and horse gear. Their product line is high quality and selection exquisite. And best of all, the shopping experience is a breeze due to their sleek website, quick shipping and easy returns. I present you with five reasons to shop online at Country and Stable. (Thank you Country and Stable for sponsoring this post.)
1. Easy to navigate website with excellent filters.
There are filters to help you shop just by brand or by size or price. You can also compare two or more items, which is a fabulous way to shop, speeding up the overall process. For example, you can quickly click the “compare” checkbox on a page filled with saddle pads or tweed jackets or riding breeches–whatever you’re shopping for. This compare feature lets you see all your potential new tweed jackets (for the sake of this example) at once and determine which one is most to your liking.
2. Product selection you can’t easily find in the United States (including all the tweed!).
In addition to having familiar brands such as Roeckl, Horseware Ireland, Ariat and Kerrits that probably many U.S. equestrians are familiar with, Country and Stable has a wide selection of other brands. For example, I’m not familiar with Masta, Musto, Toggi, Cavallo and Jack Murphy. Now I know who John Whitaker the legendary show jumper is, but I didn’t know he has a brand too. Check out this cool John Whitaker Union Jack saddle pad! Or, you might want to peruse their gilets and vests.
The HV Polo Celestine Cardigan in black featured in the above photo is really cute. Don’t let the puffy quilting fool you into thinking it’s too heavy for summer. I wore this jacket on two different flights recently (you know how airplanes are freezing cold?). It was perfect. It’s also great for cool California mornings. And it is compressible enough to be folded up into the front zippered pocket of my overhead-bin-approved rolling suitcase.
Now a tangent about tweed. I really want to add tweed to my wardrobe, but I just don’t see how that is practical for a Southern California equestrian. If anyone also living in a warm weather part of the world has ideas on how I can justify a tweed jacket, please leave a comment. Thank you for your support. 🙂
3. Fast shipping.
When I placed my order for the brown Roeckl gloves and HV Polo jacket, I was really impressed with how quickly they arrived. I think it was about four days. Not bad for going from the UK across the Atlantic all the way to California! You get free shipping on orders over $100. According to the Country and Stable website, their shipping to the U.S. is between three and five days. And that’s the truth.
4. Made to order jackets, breeches, and show shirts.
I have not tried this service, but the Country and Stable website has some products that can be tailored to your specifications. Keep in mind that made to order breeches for example, will take longer (possibly up to eight weeks) to arrive at your door. This would be an excellent service if you were kind of in between sizes.
5. A solid selection of high visibility items for both horse and rider.
Being safe and being seen is important when you’re out hacking. Crossing a road or simply riding alongside one can be safer with high visibility gear. Country and Stable has excellent “hi vis” products ranging from fly bonnets to saddle pads, polos and boots (for the horse) to machine-washable jackets and vests for the rider. If you need to up your visibility in reflective florescent yellow, you might like this Horseware Ireland vest. It looks fairly normal on the front, with just the above-the-chest and shoulder area having the bright reflective part. The entire back is bright yellow to really capture the attention of drivers.
