Riding with a cell phone is a must for two reasons: Reason #1=Safety. What if I fall off somewhere in a remote corner of the farm property and no one is around!? Reason #2=Capturing between the ears photographs. Before I bought my Black Knight Accessories Rider Wristlet I would ride with my phone in my back pocket of my breeches (ones that would accommodate such an item), my bra, or shoved halfway inside my breeches, peeking out from my lower back or belly. None of those options looked or felt good. Enter the Black Knight Accessories Rider Wristlet to the rescue!

I ordered my wristlet during Black Friday weekend last year and forgot that my Samsung Note 8 is one of the longest cell phones on the market. Imagine my dismay when I could not fit my phone into my new wristlet! <sad face> Thankfully the owner of Black Knight was great and it was not a problem at all to swap out my too-small rider wristlet for the appropriate sized one.

The beauty of the Black Knight Rider Wristlet is you can squeeze more than just your phone into it and it looks truly fashionable! The day I rode the Griffith Park trails with Raquel (a.k.a. @stablestyle and @horsesandheels_), I carried my phone, cash, a credit card and my car key in the wristlet. If you look closely in this next picture you’ll see my wristlet peeking out from my right side.

Long time blog readers might remember how I got hooked on fox hunting last fall (before I had the wristlet). It did not feel safe to take my cell phone with me on the rides since I thought the fast pace might bounce my phone out onto the ground and I’d never see it again. My hunt coat does not have large enough pockets to carry my phone, so I missed out on scores of epic fox hunting photos in the beautiful mountain meadows of Southern California.

This season my hope is to not only ride my horse Knight in some hunts, but to get between the ears shots as photographic evidence of our grand adventures. (Please don’t tell Knight these plans. As you know, if the words “horse show” or the like are uttered too loudly it seems a shoe is lost, an abscess arises from nowhere, etc. #equestrianproblems).

When I started riding with the hunt I realized how chapped my lips became during the ride and that my nose would start to run a little. It makes sense I will be able to carry a few tissues, lip balm and my phone with me in the wristlet while riding to hounds this fall.

The Black Knight wristlet can even double as an actual wallet, small enough to fit into most handbags. For my purposes it’s like a smaller, classier fanny pack. A snap and flap on the back allow you to clasp the wristlet onto your belt where it will stay secure for the duration of your ride.

If you’re looking for a pretty and practical way to carry your phone and a few other items while in the saddle, I heartily suggest you give the Black Knight Rider Wristlet a try. I think you’ll love it.

I’m a guy (pay no attention to the ‘a’ at the end of my name, it trips some people up lol) and I’ve just been putting my wallet and phone in my tack locker when I ride. This product looks unisex enough to where I may look into getting one. It would be handy to be able to keep my phone on me in case I need it. Thanks for the review!

I think it’s definitely unisex enough for you. And I’m sure if you buy one and snap a photo and tag @blackknightaccessories they would LOVE to see it in action as you ride. Thank you for reading and I hope you try one!
