It’s time for another product review and I’m pleased to collaborate with Tracy and her horse Miles from Fly On Over. We were both gifted with a nifty pair of Grooming Hands gloves to see how our Thoroughbreds would enjoy them and evaluate their qualities.
Grooming Hands is a new grooming tool–a fusion of a glove with an anti-static, currycomb-esque orange palm. They lift up dust and dirt to the surface of your horse’s coat and make grooming a snap. Simply follow it up with a stiff brush. The Grooming Hands gloves are easy to use and I think your horse (and dog) will enjoy the massage like mine did.
The day the mail came and I opened the large envelope with the Grooming Hands, I put one on and tried it on my Doberman Missie. She wouldn’t stop wagging her short black tail. My guess is that cats would enjoy the Grooming Hands massage too and start to purr.
What I Like About Grooming Hands
I tried them next on my Thoroughbred Knight. I loved the efficiency of basically currying my horse in half the time (since I can use both gloves simultaneously–I’m not talented enough to do that with two curry combs!).
For example, if I were to use a regular brush in my left hand, I would not have as much control. The smoothing or flicking action of using a brush is awkward to me with my left. However, I can easily run my left hand over my horse’s coat with the grooming hands on.
Another great feature is the gloves can be thrown in the washing machine. I wouldn’t dry them in the dryer though.
Lastly, the gloves are both latex free and made in the USA.
The Shocking Story Behind Grooming Hands
Grooming Hands was actually born out of a desire by Barb Schuster, a life-long horse lover, to not shock her horse every time she brushed him! Her cold and dry Pennsylvania winters were the impetus to create a grooming tool to stop static. You can read more of the story on their website.
Barb states: I never thought in my early years, that I would be able to live the American Dream and start my own business or be an inventor!
As I have been using Grooming Hands prior to riding Knight lately, I keep thinking how fun it would be to see Barb and her orange and white horse/dog/cat massage gloves on one of my favorite shows, Shark Tank. And if she needs a horse model to take on the show, Tracy and I will probably have to do rock, paper, scissors to see whose horse should go.
You can get your very own pair of Grooming Hands for your furry beasts by clicking this link to visit the Grooming Hands homepage. I think you’ll like them.

Yay! I had so much fun doing this review with you! We’ll have to do it again sometime 🙂
Definitely! Let’s do it again. And go on Shark Tank!
I bet those are awesome! How did they fit on your hand? In the picture they look a little big..are they one size fits all or different sizes? Besides them getting wet and needing to dry out, I bet they would be perfect for bathing a horse!! I normally use my hands and nails to do my horses legs, but those would surely work better.
Great question, Ashley! I wasn’t sure about the fit. They do come in sizes. I have long-ish fingers and was worried about them being too small. If you go to their site you’ll see the sizing chart.
I’m really excited about trying these, I have a review coming shortly 🙂
Nice!!! I think you’re going to really like them.
I have seen a few of these types of gloves popping up. Schneider’s has a version that has intrigued me.
