Scores of the world’s most talented show jumpers are now here in SoCal for the third annual Longines LA Masters, and last night’s red carpet opening event brought out the equestrian and Hollywood stars in full force. Enjoy this collection shot by the talented Vanessa Hughes (you might know her on Instagram as Lady Photographic; you’ll love this shot she took of California Chrome when he raced at Del Mar.)
For last year’s post including my too-close up selfie pic with Kent Farrington and a super cute white pony, click here.
Some of the 2016 Longines Red Carpet VIPs
The cutest equestrian couple: Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook.
Olympic gold medalist Scott Brash.
Pop star Iggy Azalea who is a total horse girl.
Jessica Springsteen who needs no introduction.
Hannah Selleck (model/rider) and Ariana Rockefeller (fashion designer/equestrian).
The legendary Olympian John Whitaker whom I spoke to last year. When I asked him what he would be doing for work if he weren’t a professional show jumper, he said “dairy farmer” because that’s what his father did. As a granddaughter of a dairy farmer, he couldn’t have impressed me more. đ
The Rio Olympic team show jumping silver medalist, Lucy Davis (on right).
Hope you enjoyed these red carpet moments. I will be Instagramming all weekend from the event from both my account @SaddleSeeksHorse and I have taken over the Sidelines magazine Instagram too. Follow the Long Beach horsey fun from the comfort of your home.
Your Turn: Which VIP would you love to meet?

Looks like a fun time! These are great photos! I didn’t know Iggy was into horses. I love following Kaley on insta!
From what I understand Iggy is an eventer or is going to try eventing.
What fun! I’m jealous!
Love these, and living vicariously through the pictures. Thanks for sharing!
A the world of horses…. one I watch from a far. Allergies and just not possible as a lifestyle choice right now. Still … such beauty. Thanks for the photos. These are faces and names I would never have known anything about!
I don’t watch The Big Bang Theory, but I know Kaley Cuoco is a HUGE Hollywood star. Also, Bruce Springsteen’s daughter Jessica is a pro rider. Steven Spielberg’s daughter also rode in a charity competition. Last year Bill Gates and Steve Jobs’ daughter competed. I didn’t see them this year, but they might have been there.
How exciting! As a former horse owner and competitor I can appreciate the beauty of these horses. Looks like you had a marvellous time and met some very interesting people.
Looks like you had an exciting event!
Great post and am learning all the time, I do not normally follow celebraties so this was an eye opener
What an amazing turnout! Wonderful photography!
That looks like a great event. Thanks for sharing the photos.
What fun! Lots of celebrities. We went to a polo match recently but I haven’t seen any equestrian competitions before.
Fun post! I’m glad to see Kaley C. hasn’t lost her love of horses after that dreadful riding accident a few years ago. No true horse lover would.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Thank you, Cathy!
What a fun event! Nice shots!
How fun for you! I haven’t ever been to a red carpet event, but I am sure it is exciting!
Lucky you, that you got to attend a red carpet event
Kaley is my favourite actress of all times! She’s not only an amazing actress, but she truly cares for animals too! I hope I can ever meet her in person, and I’ll give her a big hug! It’s so important for celebrities to raise awareness on these topics! They inspire more people than I can ever dream of!
I’ve never heard of this event, and the pics are lovely, but would have really enjoyed seeing horses.
Beautiful photos. I love horses and riding- never brave enough to be a competitive jumper but lots of fun. Now enjoy watching. I’d love to meet Kaley and Iggy.
John Whittaker?!?!?! Oooo man!!!!!!!! We used to watch horsejumping on BBC and always cheered him on hugely! He is a horse riding Rock Star indeed.
It is lovely to see everyone in their ‘civies’ and pretty dresses. Horseriding is practical and floaty garb doesn’t cut it usually đ
John W is a class act. His gorgeous stallion Argento who won one of the Gran Prix I think the first year of this event midjudged a jump and kind of bicycled his legs mid-air through the poles. They landed fine/no falls. He pulled up and I thought he must have done that to save wear and tear or his horse.
How nice to meet all of these people. I haven’t watched horsejumping in a long time, but it’s always fascinating.
